For more than 10 years The Wedge Brothers have played for thousands of people, on the largest of stages including The House of Blues (Las Vegas & New Orleans) to the Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel, for crowds of 4,000 people at outdoor festivals, to the smallest of dive bars in Vegas. The band has averaged more than 100 gigs per year since Mike O'Brian and Tom Rojas founded the band, and can provide as small as a solo act, to a two piece duo or three piece trio, to their full five piece band.
As one of the Original “Wedge Brothers”, co-founder Mike O’Brian handles the percussion, lead vocals, and background vocals. Mike is also in charge of making the audience feel as though they are just as much apart of the band as anyone else. Mike has been waking up Las Vegas for over 20 years doing morning radio! Currently, Mike is heard every Monday through Friday from 5am-9am on Classic Hits 96.3, The New KKLZ along with partners Jim Tofte and Charly Kayle. Having done stand-up comedy, hosting some of the biggest events in Las Vegas, and being on the radio, Mike has no problem being the official “front man” for the band. Originally from the Chicago area, Mike is the proud father of two daughters, Nicole (24) and Kelly (23) and enjoys life everyday with the most wonderful woman, who just happens to be his best friend, Jodi. So whether its the alarm going off at 3:30 in the morning to be on the radio or on stage with the “Wedge Brothers”, a lot of friends would agree that Mike O’Brian has the best job(s) in the world!
As the other "Original Wedge Brother" and co-founder of the band, Tom plays rhythm guitar and sings leads and background vocals for The Wedge Brothers. Tom's voice fits perfect into the slower, more romantic love songs, and is comfortable covering tunes from Crosby, Stills Nash & Young, The Eagles, Eric Clapton and Van Morrison to Steve Miller and Jimmy Buffet . Though born in New Orleans, Tom is a native Las Vegan, and has been playing guitar since the age of 10. He enjoys all types of music, but is happiest "Living in the 60s and the 70s". His influences include Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, America, James Taylor, The Guess Who, The Eagles, The Beatles, Gordon Lightfoot and Paul Simon. Tom also plays in another Las Vegas Band (SideShow) and can be found on occasion sitting in with the Famed Tommy Rocker and his band Conched Out!
Steve Nation is a Seattle native who’s love for the guitar brought him to Nashville at an early age to hone his skills. It was there that he blended his love for the blues and the unmistakable twang of the Nashville sound to give him his unique style as a lead guitarist. He played and sang with numerous bands and toured the entire country before branching out on his own to form The Edisons. Their debut album quickly got them much recognition and respect amongst the music community. In the first months following the albums release, they had a song stay #1 at an indie New York station for 6 weeks in a row, the BBC did a featurette with them and Chris Hillman of the legendary Byrds called them “New rock at it’s finest”. After 15 years of road tours, honky tonks and heartaches, he left Nashville to settle down in the city where most come to thrive and The Wedge Brothers and Steve have never been the same. You can still find The Edisons and Steve’s solo project “Venice” available on Itunes.
